Breast Pumps
A breast pump is a device that is used to extract milk from the breast of a lactating woman and stores it for feeding. Breast pumps may also be used by women who wish to increase their milk supply or as part of a treatment plan for breast engorgement, blocked milk ducts, and mastitis.
Types of Breast Pumps
Electric breast pumps can be pushed manually or use a power adapter. There are two types of electric breast pumps:
- double-action
- single-action.
Double-action pumps compress and release both breasts simultaneously, while single-action devices work on one breast at a time.
