What Is the Distinction Between a Rollator and a Walker?

The only difference between a walker and a rollator is that the latter has wheels. When walking, a walker has four legs, all of which are in contact with the ground. In order to move forward, the walker must be elevated. The term "rolling walker with a seat" is often used to describe a rollator. A rollator is a wheelchair with four wheels and brakes that does not require lifting to move forward. Because the wheels swivel, rollators are easy to maneuver. Rollators are typically huge, making them difficult to handle in small apartments or short hallways.

If you have balance concerns, weakness while standing, or need a hard immobile support to help you walk, you should use a walker instead of a rollator. If you can balance yourself but need a place to sit frequently or require assistance hauling oxygen tanks or other necessities, a rollator is a fantastic option. If you have arm weakness and find it difficult to lift a standard walker, a rollator can help.
