Heavy duty Leg Lifter Strap
This bendable leg strap/lifter is 42" (105cm) long and is composed of heavy-duty reinforced nylon webbing with an aluminum rod to aid put the loop over the foot. The loop can be bent to fit any size cast or foot. It's ideal for people who are recovering from surgery, have back difficulties, or have weak hip flexors.
Hip Flexors
Overcompensation of the surrounding muscles due to weak hip flexors might result in pain and difficulties walking. Physical therapy and exercises are used to treat weak hip flexors.
The hip flexors connect the lower back to the hips, groyne, and thigh bone. The psoas muscle, which helps press the top of the leg upward, is part of this muscular group.
The hip flexors help to keep the lower spine in place. Walking, postural alignment, joint mobility, flexibility, and balance are all aided by them.
The effects of weak hip flexors can be felt in a variety of places throughout the body
The following are some examples of general symptoms
- Gait and postural alterations
- discomfort in the knees
- back pain hip ache
These symptoms occur as the joints attempt to compensate for weak hip flexors by overworking them
A hip flexor strain could cause pain in the hip flexor area. Although weakness might create a strain, this is not the same as weak hip flexor muscles.
When walking, the psoas muscle is crucial for swinging the leg forward. If this muscle is weak, a person may have to use more energy and rely on other muscles, such as the rectus femoris and hamstrings. During walking, these muscles may overcompensate, putting them under undue strain and causing discomfort.
Climbing stairs might also be difficult if lifting one's leg is problematic.
When a person walks with restricted knee flexion, or bend, they are said to have a stiff knee gait. A stiff knee gait might be caused by weak hip flexors.
