Parsons ADL Nosey Cup

The Nosey Cup is a modified drinking cup that has a u-shaped cutout on one side. The particular cut out accommodates the user's nose, allowing them to drink without bending their necks or tilting their heads.

How can Nosey cup reduce the risk of liquid entering the respiratory tubes and choking

Our Nosey Cups have rims that allow you to drink without having to tip your head back to drain the glass. It can be tipped past the point where a regular cup would hit your nose bridge. Designed for persons who have restricted neck movement, are bedridden, or use a wheelchair with a headrest.

The non-drinking side of nosey cups has a cut out so that they can be tilted without the nose getting in the way. This prevents the drinker from tilting his or her head back, reducing the risk of liquid entering the respiratory tubes and choking.

Numerous essential structures can be found in your neck, including:

  • The spinal cord in the cervical region. In your neck, you'll find the cervical section of your spinal cord. Your spinal cord transmits messages from your brain to your body and from your body to your brain via nerves. Your spinal cord stretches the entire length of your spine.
  • Vertebrae. Your spinal cord is encased and protected by the vertebrae, which are bones.
  • Vertebral discs are the discs between the vertebrae in the spine. Intervertebral discs are found between each vertebra and help to absorb trauma while also allowing your spine to move more freely.
  • Muscles. Several muscles in your neck support your head and allow you to move your neck.
  • Ligaments between the vertebrae. Ligaments in your neck serve to support and maintain your vertebrae in place.
  • Nerves. Your brain and body get information from a network of nerves in your neck. Neck discomfort can occur when a vertebral disc puts pressure on the nerves in your neck. Because many of the nerves in your neck extend into your arms, neck disorders frequently cause arm and shoulder symptoms in addition to neck pain.
  • Vessels of blood The carotid arteries and jugular veins are among the most essential arteries and veins in your body, and they are found in your neck. Arteries transport oxygen-rich blood from your heart to the rest of your body, while veins return blood to the heart.
